FOUNDATION
ENGINEERING AND DESIGN
We perform conventional
shallow foundation design such as spread and strip footings, mat
foundations, basement footings, etc. We perform these design methods
for residential and non-residential structures where the subsoil
conditions can support such foundation systems.
Where poor soils
or heavy structural loads prohibit the use of conventional shallow
foundation methods, we design deep foundation systems including
the following.
1. Piled
Foundations: We design several type of piling systems depending
on the application, location and most importantly, the subsoil conditions.
The following is a list of the common piling system we have designs
for various projects.
• Pipe-piles
• H-piles
• Auger cast-piles
• Pre-cost concrete-piles
• Vibro-piles
• Mini-piles
• Fronki-piles
2. Drilled
Pier Foundation: This deep foundation system is most commonly
used for projects in the Greater Cincinnati area. This method is
especially suited for this area because of the relatively shallow
depth to shale and limestone bedrock and the predominantly clayey
overburden soils.
We design this
foundation system for landslide prone areas or for unstable slope
conditions. We have also adopted this method in the areas of deep
uncontrolled fill, deep soft alluvial deposits etc. We provide design
for various types and sizes drilled piers including: Belled piers
Straight shaft piers Caissons
